Knocking: Listen to the sound with a hard object. True stone, compact structure, solid, sound crisp, the same sound as the surrounding up and down; fake rough stone, soft structure, dull sound, different from the sound around.
Touch: Touch by hand to distinguish. The original stone feels smooth and the grain has no peeling phenomenon; the fake stone feels hard and the grain has sand falling.
Burning: Burn in an electric stove, alcohol lamp or hot water with boiling water. True stone, odorless, no smoke, no discoloration; fake rough stone, smell, smoke, discoloration.
Test: Generally measured by gem microscope, polarized microscope or polarizer, pycnometer, hardness pen, refractometer, dichroic mirror, color filter, spectroscope, fluorescent lamp, etc., when further research is needed, infrared spectrometer, Raman spectrometer, Modern instrumentation such as X-ray fluorescence spectrometer, electron probe and scanning electron microscope.
